The mission of PEG Court is early intervention in the cycle of violence, trauma and addiction.

PEG Court is an intensive juvenile probation and therapeutic program serving girls between the ages of thirteen and eighteen who have a history of trauma and/or violence as a victim, witness and/or offender.  The duration of the program is a minimum of twenty weeks followed by a minimum of four weeks of transition.  The goal of the PEG program is to provide its participants a safe and structured opportunity to learn and practice positive coping skills, access community resources, take accountability for personal behaviors, to participate in and take ownership of their treatment plans and demonstrate positive improvements in their behavior and attitude.

The participants are to be violence free, drug free and attending an education program or otherwise be productively engaged.  PEG includes mandatory parent participation.  Parents shall be made parties to the delinquency case.

The program provides treatment, education, intensive supervision and support for the program participants and the family as a unit and for the members individually.  PEG provides quick rewards and responses for positive or negative behavior.  The PEG participants are rewarded for positive behavior through an incentive program.

PEG provides extensive experiential programming through its partnerships:

The Program for the Empowerment of Girls cultivates a sense of empowerment in the program participants, by providing the tools necessary to recognize and change self-defeating behaviors, so that they may realize their potential.
