The Second Judicial District Court has a specialized Family Court that has been in existence for over 30 years.
Cases include divorce, parentage, custody and visitation, child support, domestic violence, adult adoption, and kinship guardianship. There are four judges, five Domestic Relations Hearing Officers, and three Domestic Violence Special Commissioners. The Honorable Deborah Davis Walker serves as the Presiding Judge. In addition to the judges, Family Court has four divisions: Domestic Violence, Child Support, Court Clinic, and the Center for Self Help and Dispute Resolution. The Family Court also has a specialized clerk division known as the Domestic Relations Clerk Division. The Family Court is located on the second floor of the Downtown Courthouse.
