Public Access to Court Hearings
The broadcasting, televising, photographing, and recording of court proceedings is prohibitied unless approved by a judge.
To attend a court hearing that has been scheduled with video access, please send an email to email@example.com at least 24 hours before the scheduled hearing time.

The Second Judicial District Court will make all reasonable accommodations and reasonable modifications to policies and programs to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all of its programs, services and activities. Request for Accommodation for a Court Hearing at SJDC: Counsel or self-represented litigants may notify the Clerk of the Court of the nature of the disability at least five (5) business days before any hearing so appropriate accommodations may be made. Courthouse Access Policy
The Second Judicial District Court is dedicated to serving the community by providing equal access to justice through the fair, timely and efficient resolution of all cases. This policy is to establish guidelines for Courthouse access, which respects the dignity of the courtroom and the proceedings occurring the Courthouse. Click here to read the policy.
Members of the public are subject to screening before entering any of the Court’s locations. Items that are prohibited from coming into any of the Court’s locations include:
- Knives of any type and size
- Razors or blades
- Pepper spray, mace or chemical gasses
- Stun guns
- Explosive devices
- Metal objects that could be used as weapons (nail files, knuckles, picks, forks, scissors, tweezers, etc.)
- Bats, clubs or kubaton sticks
- Handcuff keys
- Box cutters
- Any other devices or objects deemed a security risk by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department.
